A little bit more about me

Hey! I'm Tarini Naik, a UX Designer-Researcher with a passion for creating meaningful and accessible designs.

Currently, I'm working as a Research Fellow (RF) at Microsoft Research, India (MSRI), in the Technology for Empowerment team. My work is focused on accessibility and societal impact, making technology more inclusive for everyone. I have the privilege of being the first design RF in fifteen years at MSRI, a role that has allowed me to explore the intersection of design and technology in depth.

I graduated with an Industrial Design degree from Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology, India. I did my thesis with the Ludic Design for Accessibility team at MSRI. Since then I've worked on various projects in the fields of Human Computer Interaction, Accessibility, and Service Design, with the goal of improving the relationship between people and the products they use.

Beyond UX Design, I have a love for product and furniture design. I'm fascinated by material handling and the different hands-on ways of making products. Creativity extends into my personal life as well; I have studied Hindustani classical music and Tabla for 10 years. I write poetry and sing in my free time, finding inspiration in music, people, and nature. I also enjoy rewatching the same series, paying attention to the minute details that I might have overlooked before.
